Dear friends,
Joy doesn’t have to be big or dramatic.
It’s not something we need to chase or wait for until life is sorted.
Joy often arrives quietly — in small moments that get our attention and remind us why life is worth living.
Unlike happiness, which can depend on things going our way, joy is often a response to something fleeting. A moment of connection. Beauty. Play. Relief. Warmth. A sense of being alive.
Gratitude and joy go hand in hand. When we practise noticing what’s good, we become more available to moments of joy — and when life is hard, joy can be deeply resourcing. It connects us to hope, courage, and care.
Many of us miss joy, or push it away. We’re busy. We’re braced. We’re wary of disappointment. There’s a strong pull toward what’s wrong or unfinished.
Today’s practice is an invitation to notice joy in a simple, embodied way. Nothing complicated. Just letting a small, genuine moment of joy be felt — and letting it matter.
As you go about your day, slow down and see if you can stay open to these quiet moments when they appear. They don’t need to last, and you don’t need to hold onto them. Noticing is enough.
Tomorrow we’ll close this series with a short blessing — a moment of peace and goodwill to carry forward.
Thank you for being here and practising alongside me. It brings me joy to share these moments with you!
Love,
Louise
