Day 2, heart breath meditation
Gently reconnect with your body
Hello friends,
Welcome to Day 2 of Making Space.
Today we continue with our theme of Arriving — giving yourself a few minutes to settle, breathe, and reconnect with your body.
Today’s practice is a short and simple 5-minute meditation. You can do it anytime, anywhere, in whatever posture feels right. In bed is completely fine. The intention is to bring some warmth, kindness, and gentle nourishment to yourself.
In this meditation, we place the hands on the heart and belly — two areas that are rich with sensation and emotion. Both places hold powerful energy in many traditions, and from a physiological perspective they also contain networks of neurons that help regulate the nervous system. Simply resting your hands here can soothe, steady, and support you from the inside.
As you listen, notice any small shifts.
How does it feel to receive the warmth of your hands?
What happens as your breath meets the softness of your belly?
Do feel soothed visualising a river of energy flowing inside?
These tiny moments of turning inward can guide you home again.
There’s nothing to achieve.
Just feel what’s here, without rushing past it.
We’ll stay with this gentle “arriving in the body” theme over the next few days — short grounding practices to help you build a steady habit of pausing, checking in, and feeling supported from within.
I hope today’s practice offers you a moment of ease.
And as always, you can return to it anytime you need a reset.
With love
Louise

I did it yesterday when I arrived in the office. Went to one of the sound-proofed booths. Was determined to make myself the first priority of my working day!
Thank you, Louise. Tagged this lovely meditation to the end of morning yoga practice, which I am re-establishing after recovering from illness. Gentle and nourishing - just what I needed!
